The Smithsonian’s National Zoo has canceled Boo at the Zoo and Zoolights, two of its biggest holiday events, for the second straight year due to coronavirus concerns.
Boo at the Zoo, a Halloween event mainly for children, and ZooLights, the popular year-end lights festival, will not take place this year, the Zoo’s website stated.
The ZooLights Express and Panda Claws mobile displays have also been canceled, according to WTTG-TV (Channel 5) reporter Bob Barnard.
Several big cats at the D.C. zoo tested positive for COVID-19 last month, but are now eating and behaving normally, the Zoo said Friday.
