Those who are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus can generally go without testing for the virus, according to the latest recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Outside of any developing symptoms, fully vaccinated people don’t need testing or quarantining even if after exposure to infected individuals, according to the new guidelines, The Associated Press reported Thursday.
The CDC said even if fully vaccinated people are infected, their symptoms will likely be mild and they are less likely to spread it to others.
Vaccinated people can also skip workplace screenings, except for those who work or reside in homeless shelters or prisons, the revised guidance says. Doctors, nurses and other health care workers are also advised to continue getting tested.
The CDC said U.S. citizens traveling abroad still must present a negative COVID-19 test before boarding a return flight, regardless of their vaccination status, AP reported.
Additionally, any who tests positive should still quarantine for 10 days, according to the guidelines.
