President Donald Trump has taken control of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, replacing financier and philanthropist David M. Rubenstein and terminating Kennedy Center President Deborah F. Rutter, amid criticism from the arts community and comparison to authoritarian regimes.
