EDITORIAL: As Midterms Approach, African Americans Must Understand the Major Value in Voting

The Supreme Court of the United States has weakened Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, making it harder to challenge racially gerrymandered maps and diluting minority voting strength, and citizens are urged to demand that Congress pass the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to strengthen voting protections at the federal level.
