U.S. Capitol Police said it has acquired enough coronavirus vaccine doses for all of its officers and support staff to be inoculated.

The department said it is determining how to best distribute the vaccines, which are due to arrive soon, WTOP reported.

“Thanks to the efforts of the congressional leadership, especially House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the administration, enough doses of the COVID-19 vaccines have been secured to vaccinate all USCP personnel,” said the department’s acting Chief Yogananda Pittman, WTOP reported.

Nearly 40 Capitol Police officers and roughly 150 National Guard members have tested positive for COVID-19, the potentially fatal respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus, since responding to last month’s deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol.
