We know that some of our customers continue to face financial hardships brought on by the pandemic. Therefore, Washington Gas is pleased to unveil the Arrearage Management Program (AMP), which provides guidance, resources, and assistance to customers who are unable to pay their utility bills on time during the COVID-19 pandemic. We created this program to assist customers in avoiding additional debt, while steadily paying down any past-due balances.

AMP assists customers by helping to:

Lower or eliminate existing COVID-19-related past-due balances.
Bring accounts current.
Improve payment behavior on customers’ new bills.
Avoid disconnection.
Allow customers to remain current in their Company payment obligations.

Starting Nov. 1, 2021, and running until Oct. 31, 2022, eligible customers may enroll in the AMPinitiative. Once enrolled, customers will participate in our 12-month payment plan. Upon successful completion of the 12-month plan, customers will receive forgiveness for the amount included under AMP.

To become eligible to enroll in the program, you must first apply for energy assistance and be approved by the Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE). To contact DOEE, call 311 or go online at https://doee.dc.gov/. If your past-due balance is more than $3,000, you must first bring your past-due balance to $3,000 or less. You can do that by seeking other eligible sources of support including visiting Washington Gas Cares at www.washingtongascares.com. When your balance is $3,000 or less, you will be eligible to enroll in the program.

Our AMP program will launch on November 1, 2021. To enroll:

1. Email us now at DCAMP@washgas.com. Please provide your Washington Gas account number in your email and your interest to enroll in the program.
2. Online at https://wglcx.washgas.com/amp starting November 1, 2021.
3. Or call our DC AMP Hotline at 703-750-4399. Please leave your Washington Gas account number and call back number.
We look forward to helping you eliminate your past-due balances with this convenient, easy-to-use program.
